Mother's Day is coming up fast and if you don't have a gift yet, you better get on it!
I rounded up my picks for Mother's Day gifts. But beware, these are only for cool moms.
When I think of cool moms, I automatically think of the ultimate cool mom - Mrs. George
from Mean Girls.
Actually, she might be a little too cool.
Number one item on The Cool Mom Gift Guide is my 'Cool Mom' ecard from
Pingg, because an ecard is perfect
for your hip, Internet-savvy mom.
Now you need a gift to go with that card. Here are some modern Mother's Day gifts to show
your mom she's not like the others.
- The Wheatfield Prints
- Viscid Watch
- Color Leather Belt
- Diva Watering Can
- Ania Tumblers
- Stripe Ballet Flat

This week's color inspiration is based off a drawing by Tommy Kane. A few days ago, I
saw a film by Danny Gregory that showed Kane creating
this very drawing. I was absolutely fascinated. I just love seeing into an artist's
studio and getting a glimpse into how they create. The film was very
well done and it was neat seeing how this drawing came to life. In fact, it's
encouraged me to get back into drawing. Most of my work is done on my laptop and I often
forget about actually picking up a pencil and making something the old fashioned way.
I'm hoping to share a peek into my sketchbook on the blog soon.

The photo for this week's Huesday is courtesy of my talented hubby. He took this picture
from the bedroom window of our last apartment. The view was fantastic there. The place
we live in now has a great view too, and a balcony where I can set up a tripod. I'm
planning on getting out there this week to snap a few pictures. It'll be nice not having
to shoot through a window.

It's was my husband's 29th birthday this past weekend, so I made him a special treat.
They're mini vegan sprinkle donuts! I got the recipe from Vegan Yum Yum.
They were actually really easy to make too, which is odd since usually desserts
this pretty are a pain to make. Even though she specifically warned against it in
the instructions, I still managed to over-fill the pan a little so my donuts came
out a little weirdly shaped. But you know what? Nobody noticed.
