January Freebie

Posted on January 4, 2013 and tagged Freebies with comments

I tried something a little different for this month's background, so I hope you like it. It started out as a little doodle and progressed into this...whatever it is! :P It's sort of kooky, but hey, you gotta love trianges!

Hey you know, I just had a thought. If you have any requests for the upcoming months, you should let me know! Glitter? Kitties? Polka Dots? I'm going to need your help to come up with 12 of these babies.

There are 4 sizes to choose from depending what kind of computer/lappy you have so there should be something for everyone's situation, plus a patterned iPhone background. Just click one of the buttons below to get the full size image. Then just save it and set it as your wallpaper.

December Freebie

Posted on December 1, 2012 and tagged Freebies with comments

Oh November, you certainly have not been my favourite month but December is going to totally kick your butt. I also can't wait for the best holiday of the year... New Year's! You thought I was gonna say Christmas didn't you? Well I'm actually not that into Christmas. I don't hate it or anything, I just don't like the stress of feeling like you need to buy really awesome presents for everyone you know. New Year's, however, is awesome. You can get dressed up fancy and go to a party, or stay in your jammies and watch movies. So cheesy, but I like to think about the past year and all the good in my life and sometimes think about the bad and how I'm going to change that. I also enjoy making goals for the coming year and pumping myself up to get started on them. The new year always feels like a fresh start and never fails to get me all emotional. Not that getting me to tear up is all that difficult!

I had a really great response to my November Freebie last month so I absolutely had to do it again. Making a new background every month is proving to be great design exercise for me. Sometimes frustrating, but definitely satisfying. I hope ya like it!

There are now 4 sizes to choose from depending what kind of computer/lappy you have so there should be something for everyone's situation. Plus a pretty sweet (if I do say so myself) patterned iPhone background. Just click one of the buttons below to get the full size image. Then just save it and set it as your wallpaper.

Free Printable: Watercolour Thanksgiving Placecards

Posted on November 14, 2012 and tagged Freebies, DIY with comments

Canadian Thanksgiving was a while ago, but I completely forgot to do anything crafty for it. Luckily American Thanksgiving has given me a second chance to put together a little printable I've been planning.

Download the Printable Placecard

I painted these placecards with watercolours first then scanned it it, so it's basically the real deal! If you have paints of your own, you could also paint this design yourself since it's pretty simple.

The download is a printable PDF with 2 placecards per page, so just print as many you need, cut along the faint grey lines and fold them in half. If your printer can't handle thick paper (like mine, frown) then just print on regular paper and glue it to some cardstock.

I hope these placecards will add a little artsy style to your Thanksgiving table this year!!

November Freebie

Hello November! I know I think/say this every month, but where did the time go?? I feel like it was a just a couple weeks ago that we moved into our new house, but that was all the way back in August. I've been spending a lot of time working on a new project called CourseCraft with my husband. It's a tool to easily create e-courses and sell them. You heard it here first, it's going to be totally rad. It's not quite ready yet, but you can sign up for the mailing list and find out the minute we're done. Now on to the free stuff:

I had so much fun making my first iPhone wallpaper last month, I thought I would try it again. This time I also created a desktop wallpaper. Just a fun little calendar and leaf design in some pretty fall colours, I really hope you enjoy!

Let me know how you like these! I would like to make this a monthly thing, it's great design exerscise for me too. On a semi-related note, I think I've figured out something to do for my next 52 week project. It involves putting my design skills to work every week. Start thinking about your own 52 week project because the end of the year will come up quicker than you think.
