This past Saturday, we attended two weddings. As much as I love weddings,
two in one day proved to be tiring even for me, especially since they were out
of town. Well actually, I guess we were the ones who were out of town, either
way it was a looong day. Here are a few shots from the weekend.
Did you see the church mouse I found? It was very quiet, as expected.
The weddings were both very beautiful, but as the day went on I took
fewer and fewer photos. I did end up with a couple nice ones though!
And on a totally unrelated note: Check out the Passionfruit Blog for my
Mondays are for Lovers
post. Contact me if you have something awesome happening on your blog, and
I just might feature you too!
This past week, I tried to focus on being creative everyday. I drew until my
hand almost fell off! I ended up designing a couple new iPhone cases
for fun, all of which are available as prints too. I also spent a lot of time
on my painting for Get Your Paint On: Beyond the Basics.
This class has been a lot of fun. I've played a lot with
acrylics before and painted in other mediums, but I've never actually sat
down and made a whole painting from beginning to end. It's turning out to be
a little more challenging than I thought it would be. Also, I'm sort of nervous
to show my work! I see the work some of the other students are doing and I'm a
little intimidated. But I'll do it eventually, because putting your work out
there is a great way to get better.
You know what's weird? Trying to explain to your family what a blog is.
My dad had questions like, "How do you have a blog?" and "Who owns all the
blogs?". Ummm...I don't even know where to start with those. He also asked
what I write about and just sort of stared at me when I said "Oh you know...
pretty things that I like and also kitties. Lots of kitties." I think I broke
his brain when I tried to tell him what I do as a
For some reason he didn't understand the explanation that I blog about
blogging! I've resigned myself to the fact that I will probably never have a
job that can be fully explained to my family.
Well I think this is the first time I've been late with a 'View From' post.
Some family things have come up that I need to deal with, so expect the blog to be
a little sparse until I'm feeling better. The phrase I have been
hearing a lot this past week is "hang in there". And I'm trying my best to do
just that. Hug the people you love a little tighter today, ok?
