From top to bottom and left to right:

  • The first snowfall of the year!
  • I was all cozied up in my cashmere robe that my huband got me for my birthday... best present ever!!
  • Found in my dad's apartment building, I think someone missed their calling as a graphic designer. Clip art FTW!
  • This is what it looks like behind the camera during a shoot for a blog post.
  • Recognize this? Probably not. I started hating hard on the painting I was working on a completely covered it up in new stuff. It's getting prettier now!
  • My fat friend in his favourite spot, the bean bag chair.

I'm not sure how much I'll be blogging over the next week or so, my dad is having surgery on Wednesday. It's something that I haven't been looking forward to, but it has to be done. So send good vibes this way if you happen to be thinking of me on Wednesday!

I've been trying to get a tad more personal on my blog (telling you about the surgery is one step). I love to read blogs that not only have pretty posts but give you a chance to get to know the blogger. I'm not talking about mundane details like what your toddler ate for breakfast or that your cousins' friends' car broke down... I just like to be reminded that bloggers are human beings.

So I leave you with this, a reminder that I am human, five things you may not (probably don't) know about me:

  1. I have the worst memory for tv shows and movies. As soon as I finish watching a movie, every detail flys out of my brain.

  2. When I was about 7, I sang in a live show with Sharon, Lois and Bram. Are they Canadian? Probably nobody knows who that is. And nerd alert: I was in a girls choir for 11 years.

  3. I have a sister who is 10 years less 1 week older than me. She's also a half sister, so when I'm with my dad it's like I'm an only child.

  4. I got married when I was 22, which is young I guess? I didn't notice. We've been together for over 10 years now.

  5. I wish I went to art school, but I wasted 4 years in college for Accounting. I guess it comes in handy running my own business, but I still have huge regrets about that. I worked as an Accountant for several years before one day it hit me, I totally hate this!

From top to bottom and left to right:

  • I've been having so much trouble staying focused and getting things done lately that I had to bust out my pretty notebook and make some lists! Hopefully that will motivate me to actually cross some things off that list and maybe ahem...write some blog posts.
  • Went to see a ballet with my mom and sister on the weekend, the theatre was beautiful.
  • The inside of the theatre as people were getting seating. I had a brief thought of "I should get a job here!" but then I realized I don't live in Toronto anymore. :(
  • We had front row seats!! My sister dared me to throw something into the tuba that was right below. She's clearly the bad sister.
  • FLUFFY SLEEPY FACE!!! AHH!
  • Ordered this print for my husband from Fab since one of his favourite movie's is Lost in Translation and everything is better with a kitty involved. It's such a cute print!

From top to bottom and left to right:

  • Put some new layers on an old painting
  • Sweet little fluff ball
  • Only 250 more Christmas cards to cut, fold and package!
  • Hand cramp city
  • I think we can stop calling this guy 'Fat Barney' now
  • It's my responsibility to eat all the leftover Halloween candy

From top to bottom and left to right:

  • Waking up to a little Marshall man at the end of the bed (best alarm clock ever)
  • Bird watching with Barney
  • Lots of planning in my kitty notebook. All the best plans are made in cute notebooks.
  • Opened a business bank account for CourseCraft... shit's gettin' real here!
  • Out for a walk to see the leaves changing.
  • This is right at the end of the my street! I forgot how beautiful autumn is.

From top to bottom and left to right:

  • Walked in on a kitty makeout session!
  • I think my painting is almost done. I've had it hanging over the fireplace so I can ponder it like I know what I'm talking about.
  • Yes, these chairs are still not reupholstered.
  • I really couldn't ask for a nicer view out my office window.
  • A cozy chair for me in front of the fire and blanket for the kitties. This is a great place to curl up with a book.
  • Installed a little shelf to hold all my paints. No excuse for not painting now!

Since I've been slacking on the blogging last week, I have a lot to fit into this post so here's something totally unrelated to the normal 'View From' post but just as cool!

If you live in or around Salt Lake City, you should hit up the first Passionfruit Mixer! I'm so bummed I can't go to this, I don't live anywhere near SLC. But since I can't go I guess that means there's an extra ticket for you! Oh and did I mention it's free? If you're in the area, get your bloggy butt over there!
